What changed, and when.
The Bureau closes, suspends and repurposes camps faster than most directories keep up with. Every change below is recorded against the Bureau’s own announcement or facility directory, so you can check it yourself.
Facilities that have closed keep their page on this site rather than disappearing — people search for them by name for years afterwards, and a dated answer is more useful than a missing one.
July 2026
The Lexington FMC satellite camp was announced for closure by BOP on July 1, 2026. Staff are being reassigned onsite or nearby. FMC Lexington itself remains open.

Camp operations were suspended in 2024 and BOP no longer reports a camp population here. FCI Englewood itself remains open.

October 2021
The Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan was emptied and closed in 2021 after repeated reports of failing conditions. It has not reopened.
